Introduction
Ever dreamed of flying in one of the world’s best Business Class cabins? In this article, we’ll dive deep into my first experience with Qatar Airways’ renowned Qsuite, expanding on the insights shared in my video, “QATAR AIRWAYS Qsuite! 🤯 (My First Time!) | Singapore to Doha”.
If you haven’t seen it, be sure to watch it on my YouTube channel for a visual guide to maximizing your travel rewards! We’ll explore everything from the luxurious pre-flight experience at Singapore Airport to the exceptional onboard service and amenities. Plus, I’ll break down exactly how I booked this flight using Avios points and how much it cost. Get ready to take off on a journey of luxury and comfort!
Singapore Airport: A Jewel of an Airport
Our adventure begins at Singapore’s Changi Airport, consistently ranked among the best in the world. This airport is truly an architectural marvel, featuring the world’s only indoor waterfall! It’s a sight to behold and sets the stage for a fantastic travel experience.

Check-in and Security:
Inside Terminal 1, we encountered self-service check-in kiosks, but unfortunately, they weren’t compatible with our flight. However, the Business Class check-in line was a breeze. Since we had a connecting flight in Doha, I confirmed with the agent that our bags would be checked through to our final destination in Houston. This is always a crucial step, as baggage rules can vary significantly between countries. For instance, in the United States, you typically have to collect and re-check your bags during connecting flights, which can be a hassle.

Next up was security. Surprisingly, it was one of the fastest security checks I’ve ever experienced. This efficiency is likely due to the main security checkpoint with X-ray machines being located directly at the gate, streamlining the process.
The Qatar Airways VIP Lounge: An Oasis of Luxury
Before heading to our gate, we decided to check out the Qatar Airways VIP lounge. Finding it, however, proved to be a bit of a challenge. While the airport boasts several lounges, the signage could definitely be improved. We ended up walking the entire terminal before finally locating a Qatar Airways staff member who pointed us in the right direction. But trust me, the lounge was well worth the search!

This exclusive lounge is reserved for Business and First Class passengers and top-tier Qatar Airways Privilege Club members. Unfortunately, it’s not accessible through other frequent flyer programs. But the upside of this exclusivity is ample space and personalized attention for everyone inside.
Upon entering, we were warmly greeted by an agent who escorted us to the dining area. Another staff member showed us to our table, offered us drinks, and explained the dining options, which included an à la carte menu, a full buffet, and a well-stocked bar. Naturally, I couldn’t resist exploring the buffet!

A Gastronomic Delight:
The buffet spread was impressive, featuring a wide variety of tempting treats. There were pastries, fresh fruits, cold cuts, salads, and fresh juices. They even had the most delicious freshly squeezed orange mimosa I’ve ever tasted!
While enjoying my mimosa, I decided to explore the lounge further and discovered that it was much larger than I initially thought. It offered various seating areas where you could relax with a coffee, catch up on work, or enjoy a meal while waiting for your flight.

The restrooms were also worth mentioning. They were spotless and even included a prayer room, a feature I’ve noticed in other VIP lounges around the world. All the toiletries were from Diptyque, the same luxury brand featured in Qatar Airways’ Business Class amenity kits. They had all the essentials: toothbrushes, lotion, razors, shaving cream, and, of course, hand soap.

After freshening up, I returned to my table, where I had ordered breakfast from the à la carte menu. The perfectly cooked fried eggs were so good that I’m convinced a chef prepared them! I savored them with some fresh fruit, coffee, and that unforgettable mimosa.

Boarding the A350:
With a satisfying breakfast fueling us, we embarked on the trek to our gate, located on the opposite side of the airport. Fortunately, the walk was much more enjoyable on a full stomach, and I took the opportunity to appreciate the airport’s many shops and decorations.
Upon arriving at Gate D32, we discovered that the main security check takes place right before boarding. Although the line appeared long, the Business Class lane moved swiftly.
And there she was – the magnificent Airbus A350-900 that would be taking us to Doha! Interestingly, our connecting flight to Houston would be on the larger A350-1000, which has a longer range. You can check out that experience in another video on my channel!

The Qsuite: A Class Above
Qatar Airways’ A350-900 features 33 Business Class seats in a 1-2-1 configuration, all with direct aisle access. The Economy Class cabin has 247 seats. This particular aircraft doesn’t have a First Class or Premium Economy cabin.

Boarding commenced on time, and I have to admit, I was filled with anticipation. I had heard so much about Qatar Airways’ famous Qsuites and their world-class Business Class service.
And let me tell you, the Qsuites did not disappoint! Even for someone who isn’t particularly tall, these suites are incredibly spacious. They easily rival the height of Emirates’ First Class!
Unparalleled Comfort and Amenities:
As soon as I settled in, the flight attendant offered me pajamas and slippers. Even though it was just a 7-hour flight, I couldn’t resist! I also ordered their refreshing mint and lemon juice, which I had enjoyed so much in the lounge. Whether it’s champagne or a delicious juice, it’s all about savoring the experience. Speaking of which, after trying this juice again in Doha, I’m convinced that Qatar Airways has a unique recipe.
Having flown in many different Business Class seats, I can confidently say that the Qsuite truly exceeded my expectations. The sliding door provides complete privacy, and there are controls for everything from adjusting your seat to the reading lights. You’ll find a universal power outlet with a USB port and a headphone jack for the noise-canceling headphones provided by the airline. There’s also plenty of storage space for your personal items.
Of course, we can’t forget the amenity kit, though it seems the contents may vary depending on the route. One of my favorite features on this A350 was the individual air vents – a luxury that’s becoming increasingly rare these days.
Inside the amenity kit, you’ll find facial cream, lip balm, socks, and a small bottle of cologne.

A Culinary Journey at 40,000 Feet:
Shortly after the doors closed and the “boarding complete” announcement was made, the safety video began. I buckled up and stowed my belongings.
I was amazed by how quiet the A350 was during takeoff. It’s almost as silent as the A380. If you happen to know which one is quieter inside the cabin, let me know in the comments!
The flight attendant recommended a delicious French Bordeaux, which I happily enjoyed with my lunch. (Side note: I believe all Bordeaux wines are French, but correct me if I’m wrong!)

The menu featured a selection of champagnes, including Taittinger Rosé, as well as white and red wines and cocktails.
For lunch, there were options like pasta, meat, chicken, and even lobster! I’ve never seen lobster offered in Business Class before.
I started with the Arabic mezze, which I’d heard good things about. It was absolutely incredible and far exceeded my expectations. The warm pita bread tasted like it had just come out of a traditional bakery oven.

For my main course, I opted for the steak with mushroom sauce. It came with the most amazing mashed potatoes I’ve ever had – I think they were infused with truffle oil. This was hands down one of the best meals I’ve ever enjoyed at 40,000 feet.

By the time dessert rolled around, I was stuffed! But I always have room for cheese and grapes. It was the perfect ending to the meal, especially when paired with an expertly crafted Old Fashioned.

The Cost of Luxury (with Avios!)
Now, let’s talk about the cost of this amazing experience. This Qatar Airways Business Class flight from Singapore to Houston (with a layover in Doha) set me back 150,000 Avios points and about $800 in taxes and fees. That’s an incredible value for such a luxurious experience! If you’re interested in learning more about how to earn and redeem Avios points for premium cabin travel, be sure to check out my other articles and videos on flyingwithpoints.com.

More Qsuite Perks:
Of course, no flight review is complete without a bathroom check! While not as large as the A380 bathroom, it’s still a good size and features a full-length mirror, perfect for changing. You’ll also find those lovely Diptyque products here.
After lunch, I changed into the super comfortable pajamas provided by the airline and settled in for a few hours of relaxation before our arrival. I closed the window shades, reclined my seat, wrapped myself in the soft blanket, and put on a movie to help me drift off.
After a couple of hours of sleep, I did some work, taking advantage of the onboard Wi-Fi. The speed was decent, though Qatar Airways is currently upgrading their antennas to provide even faster speeds via Starlink satellites.
Touchdown in Doha:
Soon, we began our descent into Doha, Qatar. There’s nothing quite like the thrill of arriving in a new country for the first time! I buckled up and prepared for landing.
We had a smooth landing, and our brief time in Doha was fantastic. You can see more about my Doha layover in another video on my channel.

Conclusion
Flying in Qatar Airways’ Qsuite was truly an unforgettable experience. From the exceptional service and luxurious amenities to the delicious food and spacious seating, it exceeded all my expectations. And thanks to the power of points and miles, this dream flight became a reality.
If you’re looking to elevate your next travel experience, I highly recommend considering Qatar Airways and their Qsuite. With a little planning and some strategic points redemption, you too can enjoy world-class travel for a fraction of the cost.
